The Jewish Information Centre provides a guided tour in the Synagogue for tourists. You will experience the beautiful architecture of the Synagogue and learn more about Danish Jewish history, life, and culture. 

The Great Synagogue of Copenhagen opened in 1833 and was drawn by the Danish-German architect Gustav F. Hetsch. The Synagogue is known for its neoclassical style combined with an inspiration from ancient Egyptian construction art. The Synagogue has been a central part of the Jewish community in Denmark since it was built. Join the tour and experience the beauty and all the great stories of the Great Synagogue of Copenhagen. 

How to join the tour:

  • When: Monday-Thursday June and July
  • Where: The meeting point is outside the Synagogue in Krystalgade 12 at the gate
  • Language: The tour is in English 
  • Tickets: You need to buy your tickets and register for the tour online - it is not possible to buy tickets at the gate
  • Price: 150 kr (all fees included)
  • All visitors are required to bring a picture ID (ie. passport or driver's license)
  • Large bags are not allowed
